Reading Kidlit: Picture Book Illustrations on the Kindle

The Three Billy Goats Gruff, Paul Galdone Yesterday, I posted about reading kids’ books on the Kindle. Books for all ages are available, though, as you can see, picture books lose some of their warmth on the matte gray screen.

Would you read picture books on the Kindle? Would you let your kids read on the Kindle?

I think the eink display is great even if it doesn’t come in color. I don’t have kids but if i did and they wanted a kindle i’d sure as heck get them one. The grey color is a bit drab but still I think eink is way better than a back lit screen which can give people headaches and backlit screens also release something in your brain from staring at the light that makes it harder to fall asleep. I jus bought my boyfriend a nook and it has a color touchscreen a bit which i do like better than my kindles all grey key pad. Both are wonderful though.
